Here at Riverside Animal Hospital our number one priority will
ALWAYS be the health and well-being of your furry
(or feathered) family members.
If you should have an emergency arise outside of business hours,
please dial our regular clinic number,
563-264-0761.
This will put you in touch with our answering service.
They will be able to page us immediately, and we will return your
call and address your pet's concerns.
At that point we can arrange to
come in and see your pet on an emergency basis.
Sometimes, your pet's situation may require intensive care, and
advanced nursing and monitoring. Under these circumstances
the best place for your pet to be is at the Animal
Emergency Center, 563-344-9599, located
45 minutes away in Bettendorf, Iowa.
We do not want to sell you short by attempting to administer
intensive care after hours ourselves when your pet would be in much
better hands at a hospital staffed and ready to handle such
situations.
We remind you that decisions for such
referrals are made on an individual basis determined by the best
interests of your pet and his or her unique situation.
We also want to let you know that on rare occasions including
some holidays we will not have a doctor available. We post
notices here in the clinic regarding this during the month before
the holiday.
During these times, our answering service will advise you of our
expected return. If your pet cannot wait and truly has an
emergency, they will advise you to contact the ANIMAL EMERGENCY
CENTER to have your pet's needs immediately addressed.
This way we know your pet will have access to the very highest
standard of care available every hour, every day of the year.
Additionally, we wish to let you, our
faithful and active clients, know that we are very committed
to providing this level of after-hours service to you. To
maintain this, we reserve our after hours
availability here at Riverside Animal Hospital only for you.
All other people calling will be referred
directly to their regular veterinarian or the Animal Emergency
Center so their pets can receive the care they need.
